What goes into the report

Hail history. We counted every day with a hail report of 1 inch or larger within 5 miles of your ZIP's center, using NOAA's Storm Events Database from April 2010 through July 2026. That's 6,139 Colorado hail reports, summarized for 528 Colorado ZIP codes.

Roof age. Typical service-life ranges by material, compared with the year your roof went on. Colorado's strong sun and frequent hail tend to push real roofs toward the low end of national ranges.

What to check. Plain-language notes on anything you've noticed, and what to do about it.

The hail record depends on trained spotters and the public reporting what they see, so it undercounts storms in rural and mountain areas and can't tell you what hit your exact street. It's a reason to look closer, not a damage assessment.
