What we collect

When you just read the guide or run a Roof Report: your Roof Report answers stay in your browser and aren't sent to us. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are useful. These record things like pages viewed, approximate location, device type and how you arrived. The Roof Report sends us only the first three digits of the ZIP you entered and the material you chose, as an analytics event.

When you ask for help: the name, email, phone number, ZIP code and answers you give in the conversation, the Roof Report summary if you made one, the page you sent it from, and your IP address (used only to prevent abuse).

How we use and share it

We use your request to connect you with a local roofing contractor, and we share it with that contractor so they can contact you about your roof. We may be compensated for that referral. We don't sell your personal information to data brokers, and we don't add you to marketing lists.

Service providers who help us run the site (Cloudflare for hosting, storage and email; Google for analytics) process data on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep help requests for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

If you're a Colorado resident, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to get a copy of it, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising and certain profiling. Email hello@coloradoroofguide.com and we'll respond within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and you can contact the Colorado Attorney General if you're not satisfied with the appeal.

You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings without losing any part of the guide.

This site is for adults and isn't directed to children under 13.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top.
